Ive been contemplating a crew cab clod for a while now. After lots of research I ordered two bodies and started working. I tried cutting with thread and it was just too difficult for me. I cut both cabs from the beds and I said the he** with it and went and bought a dremel. My plastruct glue came in the same day as my bodies, but I'm still waiting for my order of styrene.
Here's where I started ![]() Mock-up of both cabs ![]() Getting there ![]() Close enough ![]() Filled in the scoop with itself since I have no styrene yet ![]() They are practically a dime a dozen now but im a sucker for crew cabs and chevys. It's pretty painstaking but not nearly as bad as I was expecting. I can't decide on if I want to stretch my scx10 chassis or build one... then I can't decide on axles but I know I want to run leaf springs so maybe a rc bros kit and axial axles. I've got some plastic trex 60 housings but Idk yet. What do ya'll think about it so far? Any tips or tricks from the vets? redid the back of the cab ![]() Put the hood line on ![]() Got it mostly slicked out ![]() Shot on a coat of primer to show my goof ups ![]() ![]() Still haven't figured out the details but I'm about to start on the drop bed. I haven't decided on whether to stretch the scx10 chassis or make my own but I know I want to run leaf springs. After that I'm still clueless... |
