Smile Hi from sunny Sussex, England

Hi to everybody.
My name is Mally, i'm a very keen modeller, have been since i was a young boy. i'm told by she who must be obeyed that i'm old and misarable, but thats just a plan so that she leaves me alone in my three workshops [clever eh?] good tip - try it, it works!
Just completed Tamiya Scania - discovered that there's lots of mods you can do on these kits, which appeals to me after having made many 1/8 scale Pocher kits.
I have got very interested in rc excavators, and my options here in Europe are Leimbach, Wedico, Damitz which are in my opinion, extremely expensive - approx 5500 to 9000 euros for what they are [your thoughts please?]
I have discovered the RC4WD site and their 1/12 scale excavator, could anybody please give me feedback and their opinion and good/bad points and where to buy please? At the moment it seems RC4WD is the only place, my son is working in the USA at the moment so collection not a problem.
Keep safe and well, look after and treasure your family,
Many thanks Mally.

Welcome aboard, Lil Giants Joe is the one to ask about that rc4wd excavator. It's 3/4 of the way through his thread. http://rctruckandconstruction.com/sh...light=basement

Cheer's, Neil.

I haven't had very good luck with my Hong Kong hoe (distributed by rc4wd), electronics & hyds problems right from the start. Mine just completely quit a few months ago, I've determined that one or two servos on the valves is shorting out the receviver. And the direct drive pump needs a transmission reduction for the motor to operate at a more efficient rpm I intend to replace everything this winter.

This guy from Ontario, Canada got a later production, his seemed to work pretty good out of the box, but we haven't heard from him in a while.

Check out this hoe.

It's the biggest track hoe kit on the market and is priced very reasonable. The only real downside is that it's +35kg, a bit of a bear to pack around by yourself. But a very powerful model to dig hard ground. I've used it to dig approx 7cu m of heavy clay this past winter.

Welcome to the forum.
