Thanks to the guys who have set up the new forum, I was somewhat depressed with the thought that I was going to miss all the great RC models that all of you have built. With that said heres an update on the Tigercat swamp logger. Just need to turn out some wheels(8), build grapples, powder coat and make the decals. Fred

Greg, Those tires are from Dakota Toys, size is 30.5-32 (2"x4"). They are of a size that is used on the Big Bud tractor and they fit the Skidder for 1/16th scale. What are you working on now? Fred

![]() Won't be as nice as yours, but I am looking forward to operating it. I have a few years of time on a CAT 518 line skidders, good fun when I was young. My body pains remind me of those days from time to time though... greg |

Wow. That is a piece of art! If I could build something like that, I would be proud! Its a beautiful model for sure. I would love to see you eventually build something like this for a functional RC model. Even so, its incredible.

Greg, If I were to build a RC piece of equiptment at this time I would like to build a Cat 527 Track skidder. It would make a good duel purpose machine, logging and dozing plus I just like the looks of them. I attended a farm tractor show today with a table full of painted boat anchors ... static models. Lots of interest in the Tigercat because of the TV show,"Swamp Loggers" I put in a lot of good word on you guys and all your RC logging equiptment, A lot of the people I talked to are looking forward to seeing yours and Lou's Videos. My brother in-law has one, I have to say it is SCARRY the steep ground they operate them on.... Years ago I ran a CAT 518 skidder, switch back trails up the hill and come straight down with logs pushing you. With the 527 it backs up steep hills better than going forward.. |

Greg, I was wondering if at 1/14 scale there would be enough room for all the RC componets in a track skidder. Also what do you think about building with steel, would it end up being to heavy? I got a Broder tractor to build before I make the commitment to build a RC model. Fred

Thought I would add these pictures of the Madill 046 for those who may not have seen them. Now building a Broder Tractor, be a while yet before pictures. Looking forward to seeing a Cat 527 RC skidder that should be taking shape in some of our fellow members shops. Fred

The Broder Tractor is slowly taking shape. Its a small 3 wheeled tractor built in the early 1900s. Fred
