Hi I am still building my cat330d in 1/14 scale, I have #35 k1 track chain, can anyone enlighten me on pad sizes (width etc) for the above chain size?
This is my first scratch build, cut 84 pads on my manual mill before realising they were not going to work,( binding up.) I cut them from 1" wide aluminum, I cant just shave some off without losing the grousers. Thanks for any help you can offer. Terry |

Check out SmallHauls' doepke Unit Cable Hoe thread, it uses #35 chain with k1 every other link. I believe he mentioned using carpet edge transition for pads.
http://www.rctruckandconstruction.co...ght=Cable+unit Photobutt ate the pics, so you'll probably need the browser patch to see them I think rvjimd also used that chain to run pads on version one of his Ny-lint michigan C-24 crawler base. If that doesn't help, i think there were a couple Dozers running the chain too, and they had to make more gap between pads to let dirt fall out. Post a pic of your setup.

Thanks for your reply Frizzen, the gap around the idler and drive sprockets is what i am trying to minimize, I was kind of hoping to hear from the guys who have printed off the pads with their 3d printers as i have just purchased a printer myself.
Thanks again Terry |
