Just would like to find out which motors are more suited for these trucks. I was considering buying a 55t to slow my truck down to a more "scale" speed. So far I've come across quite a few brands to choose from. What are the advantages over an open motor? Besides the 30 dollar price difference.
Open end: Tekin Integy Holmes Novak Sealed: Axial Hpi

An open end motor can be tuned and easily rebuilt which is more suited to racing or crawling competition. The closed ended motor would be fine for the trucks. That being said you'll probably get a lot of opinions on this. I found a crawler combo ESC/55 turn motor at Tower hobbies for about $60.00. should work just fine.

I've got an Axial crawler with a closed bell motor, I think its a 27 turn and it does fine to just bash around with.

Does the MFU match up to the motors rpm? Would the slower 55t motor sound richer or will it still sound wound out? I watched a few video's on the Tube and some of the trucks sound really real.

The MFU produces the engine RPM sound effect, based on the voltage output (throttle) to the motor. A higher turn motor, like a 55 turn you are considering, is going to spin slower, which means you'll be running more voltage (throttle) to go the same speeds, and the MFU will make it sound like the truck is running the engine RPMs higher.
