Re: down to my two options for excavator
Tough choice. I was also looking at the 956. It's priced well when compared to vario.

Re: down to my two options for excavator
I really don't think you can go wrong with the currently available excavator models. It's all about your intentions and expectations for the model. The Vario is awesome but it's lacking big time in the scale detail department compared to the Premacon offerings. Most people would probably be very against or unable to transport the Vario around. I don't like to carry it too far by myself.

Re: down to my two options for excavator
By 2015 I'd like to own the Vario excavator, unless the 956 by Premacon comes close to the Vario's digging performance. Thing is Joe has the Vario, and puts more hours on it than I ever could, while running the pressure high and it's a workhorse. Most of what I see/read about the Premacon excavator makes me think that it is more of a detailed scale model with hydraulic functions. My opinion could change by then, and the 956 is **** sexy! Especially with the sound module they are working on for it.

Re: down to my two options for excavator
I don't personally know how good the quality of EC-M models are but they look great and are made of full metal including the cab. The Case is the newest one they have but also the cheapest and is around 21kg in weight and the Kamatsu is huge and weighs about 45kg, but is also very pricey.
