had built this a while back - have since traded it off to a new owner...... but thought I would post the pics of its build. Along the way you will notice i tried several different methods but then found a good solution

Re: STX conversion
still milling parts yet and need some different size screws . (no bolt place open on Christmas ) I tried to take a pic of the pivot parts being milled , not to good so I got 1 of the screen .
I'm using pretty much what Chris did , just going a little bit further with the track frame pivot point . I'm doing away with the single point pivot to the inside of the track frame which would wear over time causing the track frame to come out of alignment thus , alowing the track to come off . the 1's I'm building is similar to the real 1's not as detailed but will function the same . thanks for lookin Ben , pic of the insides

Re: STX conversion
Great link, Frank. He has done a great job with the conversions. I hope to get mine operating that smoothly.

Steve - your doin g whagt I couldn't - remaking hte track frames for better alignment..... great upgrade!
The transmission was from RC4WD - its has metal gears and a machined aluminum case - twin 55 turn motors..... the differentials came from a Duratrax Nitro Quake - see last pic..... some more pics of the original build up..... |
