My father and I gave our Western Stars up to drivers about a 1 1/2 years ago now. About 4 months ago we ordered 2 of these 388 Petes. We flipped a coin for who got the first one. I won but that didn't seem quite right so this is his and mine will be in tomorrow. Let me know what you think.

You have some of the coolest new toys, I'm so jealous. That truck looks great as is but I'm sure we'll see a stretch for the big hauls.

Thanks guys but there is no stretch in the works for these 2...got to keep them short enough to utilize that 22,000 lb. steer axle.

Wow, I remember in 1979 my Dad bought a new R Mack. It was a 300 5 speed, He always said it had more power than the 318 Detroit in the 1969 Hendrickson it replaced, your new trucks with 600 HP, my, how times have changed.

Got Pop's lettered and dragged the pull trucks up to Red Bluff over the weekend. Still have to put all the goodies on but we couldn't wait to take her for a spin.

It makes noise at the top when yo ulet it out that is a little different but I notice that all of our Pete conventionals do the same thing. Takes a little getting use to. There are plenty of things that make up for it though...like that bueatiful aluminum hood instead of a futuristic looking fiber glass hood
