I am back to R/C after a long time out.
What are ESC's and how are they used?

ESC = electronic speed controllers. As the name says they are what controls the speed of the motor depending on where your throttle is on your radio. As well as supply power to the radio gear as well through a BEC(battery eliminator circuit)
