Looks great John. You picked some nice goodies out for this project truck. I've got a couple of the same axles and I haven't run them yet, but they are very solidly built. The rims and tires look very nice as well. Are the breathers sitting off to the side from the same company?

Thanks,
I hope it turns out like I am imagining. Yes, the axles are really stout and heavy too plus at 3.09:1, it's a little more reduction, always helps. The breathers are stock, just painted to match the truck color with some chrome accents lines, I also did the side mirror covers too. Not sure if I'm going to do the side steps & fuel tanks with a color-chrome theme yet. Stacks are stock too, just cut at 40 degrees. How did you connect your locker cables to the locker arm? Solder on a small connector on or just use the wire itself somehow? What servo torque are you using for the lockers? John |

Thanks Reg! The dump body looks awesome so far!! You are a master builder....
The Axles are from RCBRMIN (Hong Kong). All Aluminum, steel gears, BB. Just plan on doing some mods to mount the front axle, as it is the same design as the rears. Look into Integy for the front axle as it has the correct mounting design and are the same gear ratio as RCBRMIN's. I found out the hard way when I looked in the instructions at the front axle and had to order the Integy's. They only offers either all chrome or black w/chrome accents or chrome w/black accents, nothing a little paint won't fix thou. Here are some progress pics of Reg's custom dump body he's building for me. He is awesome!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() John |

Thanks for the props John. I hope you and the wife are this excited when you see the finished product. You have to give yourself credit here as well because it is your design! I'm just trying to make your CAD drawings come to life the way you imagine them to be. I am enjoying the challenge of trying to follow a drawing
![]() ![]() I'm working on it again today so you should get some updates later if all goes to plan! Last edited by RCP57; 01-04-2014 at 12:52 PM. |

The mailman was busy today. Lots of new stuff: antennas, front bumper, locker servos, Pete Emblems, Tamiya highlift trans parts, Tekinn ESC, etc:
I stand corrected...for those wanting to know the Ingegy front axle is a bust, the axle mounts are not spaced correctly for the King Hauler frame springs, don't waste your money unless you want to do some serious modifications to make it work. Save yourself the headache and get the Tamiya highlift springs (they have holes in the springs) that match the front RCBRMIN axle holes. ![]() Some progress on the frame too: ![]() ![]() John Last edited by JohnStilwell; 01-06-2014 at 07:45 PM. |

OK so I re-read your post... One of the front axles doesn't fit the frame even with the different springs or am I just more confused?lol

Reg, you are right, the Integy axle mounts are not correctly spaced for the stock leaf springs on the King Hauler frame, they are too narrow. The RCBRMIN axles are perfect if you use the Tamiya F350 or Tundra highlift springs.

I've finished to transmission and got it mounted. Very tight squeeze, but it fits!
![]() ![]() ![]() And Here are some progress pics on a custom dump box I designed and asked Reg to build for me. He has been excellent to work with and has stopped when he needed too for any clarifications on building this box for me. I can't say enough about the great personality he has, the quality and craftsmanship of his work, so as they say, let the pictures speak for themselves............Awesome work Reg!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reg, I can't thank you enough for making my design a reality. You have been an excellent contractor to work with and you are indeed a master craftsman!!! John Last edited by JohnStilwell; 01-09-2014 at 04:04 PM. |

Thanks for the kind words John. I appreciate you guys giving me the opportunity to build this for you!
Here's a little update that John hasn't seen yet....Hope you don't mind me posting some pictures. John's box has a few more things that are missing but I hope to have it finished in the next few days. This is the most complex box I have built to date and it(they) have been very time consuming but I think it shows in the details.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reg |
