Thanks guys.
Yes, she knows, lol. She has actually had some imput on the build, Her requests were: gloss black Pete cab with a few chome accents on the cab: side mirrors black w/chrome hangers, black tanks and breathers w/ chrome hanger straps, chrome lights, air horns, straight angled cut stacks, geared really low, Alum rims, and axle lockers, a realistic East Coast style black dump body (in satin) that has spreader chains with hooks and spreader bar. Wow, who could ask for more, a true trucker wife!!! John |

Reg,
It looks fantastic. Can I request that you change the spill plate a little to look more like this? Kind of an upside down "L" shape, hope this is possible. ![]() Fantastic work on everything I have asked for. Thanks, John Last edited by JohnStilwell; 01-10-2014 at 06:54 AM. |

The chassis is looking nice. Having lockers on the axles will be awesome. The dump box is really sharp too! I want one!

This is about the best I can do John short of a fairly major redo since it was already welded in place. I took a 50/50 shot at what was going to look right to you and I missed! I hope you and your wife aren't too disappointed.
![]() I have built two of these to help spread out the extra costs of my labour and materials. This is not something that I will build and sell through my vendors section but one is still up for grabs if anyone is interested. ![]() |

Update:
I finally got the front together. The Highlift leaf springs are about 3/4" eye-to-eye longer than the stock King Hauler, so I had to drill new holes for the rear spring hangers about 1/2" toward the rear and redo how the front spring mounts are done, I used the metal front shock mounts and one of the metal body angle pieces and mounted the shock hangars to it. Drilled a couple of holes and screwed this angle piece to the front plastic cross member where the servos mount. Doing this keeps the tires centered in the wheel well and the axle is at the correct stock height. ![]() I am going to have to mount the steering servo like this, right up against the front bumper, due to the large hogs head needing room when the front suspension compresses. I will lay the trans servo flat in the space left between the tranny and the steering servo. ![]() ![]() ![]() I also finished the custom shorter fuel tanks I made. Turned out pretty good I think. ![]() Thanks for looking, John Last edited by JohnStilwell; 01-11-2014 at 05:05 PM. |

Hey john, I have the same front rims. If u want a center cap for them, I cut the head off a polished carriage bolt and put it right on the wheel. It dresses it right up.

Thanks guys.
Good idea Mike, those caps look great. Yes, a sweet feeling to be able to work out a puzzle like this Mario. Now, all I need to do is figure out how to put back all the hair I pulled out trying to figure this out lol John Last edited by JohnStilwell; 01-11-2014 at 07:14 PM. |

Should look OK once the color goes on and covers up the weld and grind marks!
I got the servo latches figured out too! At least I think I did... Last edited by RCP57; 01-11-2014 at 07:44 PM. |

Cool, looks mighty tight in that last space between the last rib and back. Definitely going to need a mini servo to fit in there. So it's off to the powder coaters next week. Sounds great.. Hee haa!!

Yes, a mini servo fits with plenty of space and stays out of site when the box is down. The space is just over 2"x2"x5/8. Hopefully I can get the frame mounts and other stuff done tomorrow. There is a wind storm starting here now that will likely knock down a tree somewhere and cause our electricity to go out for a bit. Fingers crossed that it doesn't!

Your rolling chassis looks great. Those rims and tires are awesome, but I also like those axles. The dump box is really nice. Reg is getting better and better with each one he builds. It will be a good match to your truck. Nice job to both of you.
