Cheers for the Help Andy. I bit the bullet and with my teeth gritted i bought some from RCBitz here in the uk. Cost about £36 in the end and thats enough for 2 tank fulls.
My oil guy here at work is going to find me some equivalent hydraulic oil as i wont be paying those prices again lol. Got two 6400mAh 3S1P 30C coming from Hobbyking too and the 4200xl should be here between 5 and 11 days time..Woohoo |

nice need picts in the dirt.
i spoke to several suppliers for work and they worked out what i need, 20l bucket is a bit much, but with three hyd models it will , still last a long time. $30 from rc4wd for two tank fills is way too much. talking to a fellow dirt bike rider he suggested motor bike fork oil as its pretty close to the tellus oil and should work and you can buy it in 1 liter packs. and its cheap. cheers andy |

all right update time.
have sorted my issues with the 4200. I had a leaking pump seal, new pump sorted that. I played with the radio settings and made a complete hash of it. read the manual, did some more playing and fixed it. slowed the slue and speed the main boom drops ![]() had a small problem bleeding the system, worked out one of the problems was I put the tank back in the wrong way around and the suction line was fitted to the return of the tank, so the rams would move , fill the tank enough to force oil into the pump then it would run dry again!!! MUPPET!!! still , im learning and wont do that again. radio is pretty easy do use now, so will play around a little more with the settings. had to test it all out so dragged the screening plant outside and had a play. http://youtu.be/71ClQVuDoD0 ![]() |

last play for the day, a quick test of ripper 2.0 and a bit of practice swapping buckets on the quick release.
found a switch on the radio. it kills 4th valve and slows stick movement, very handy. would have saved me a lot of grief messing with the radio settings. any way video time. ![]() http://youtu.be/itvxOmZ6xqk |

after finishing cooking the BBQ the wife made a small suggestion " when are you going to clean up the mess you made with your excavator"
now being the conscientious bloke I am, I skipped out of doing the dishes and grabbed a beer and cleaned up the play area. heres the result. ![]() http://youtu.be/KH8wnOORwO8 |

It's the "mix channel" switch he's referring too, turned off will slow hyd flow to a snails pace b/c 4th valve doesn't move/remains open.

that's the one Joe, found it by mistake.
good for practising the bucket swaps, I need some more reading time to see if I can do something with the slew as its quite jerky and smooth small movements are quite a pain. I am wondering if a better esc and motor gear set up will fix the problem, or can it be slowed on the radio, by that I mean the acceleration of the motor. the mix channel switch seems to only affect the hydraulics , only noticed it as my sound card is controlled by the forth valve( engine revs ) but dosent seem to have any effect on the rotation. time to get the radio manual out. cheers andy |

A better esc would be best to try, one with a light to no brake.
The mix has nothing to do with your rotation. You can manipulate your rotation speed & smoothness with the use of dual rates using different values for curves & offsets, and it will help alleviate some of jerkiness, but not eliminate it. Your right/left movements on the sticks are either aileron or rudder, which is which on each side of tx depends on which mode (1-4) your transmitter is set to.

What I did was screw the dial all the way in on the pressure relief valve then
the dial for that servo can be used to manually adjust the overall pressure/function speed from the radio (mix always off then) This also keeps sound constant- dialed up down manually with pump on or off. |

thanks guys,
engine revs , I can set max revs on the signal reversing cable ( small pot on board ) Im more focused on the rotation jerkiness ( if that's a word ), I will try joes suggestions on the radio and see how we go. if I cant get any joy out of that next will be an esc, the more play time with the radio the more confidant I am becoming at changing things up, also learnt write things down before I change too much LOL. thanks for the help cheers andy |

Andy, do you have a lot of play in your turn tabel? Because my motor gears went bad on mine causing it to be kinda jerky and then not turning at all.

No. Have checked all the possible mechanical issues and everything is good, it is more of an electrical issue . The smoothness of how the motor preforms on the control side of things.
have ordered a few esc's to see if I can take out the choppyness of the brushed motor, if that dosent work maybe a brushless motor will be smoother . still have a few projects on the go so can use left over bits for other toys, and you can never have too many spare parts. |

finally got motivated and installed the light kit for the loader.
had to disassemble the loader to run all the cable's nicely out of the way ( bit of a mission) but worth it in the long run. indicators work off steering , even got them on the correct side first pop, left is left right is right. ![]() figured out the radio to get them switching on the aux pot at top of radio, now all I got to do is put her back together and start the digging. heres a few picts. no lights ![]() just the cab lights ![]() and flood lights ![]() also has a reversing beeper , but no volume control, that's an easy fix at a later date. ![]() |

had a bit of down time in between wife jobs, so did some earth moving of my own on a smaller scale.
next on the to do list is play with the radio and see if I can get the hydraulics to run a little smoother, mainly in the steering so its not so jerky. http://youtu.be/z0qhwy-8HZ8 |
