Hello there, i am interested in getting into the scale world of RC. I am planning on getting a tamiya king hauler and was curious if anyone can assist me. I would like to try and modify to be a tri axle day cab and am hoping somebody could help me. I am also open to other truck models. Thanks

Welcome to the board. You got lots of research to do. If you know how to cut aluminum, measure, and drill/tap holes, you're ready to go. Here's my truck that's still getting finished up. Russisloud airbags are the easiest way to go tri-axle in my opinion.

I have to agree with PFB, Russ's air ride is the way to go. I installed some on a few of my trucks and trailers, and they are sweet.

would going with a day cab really limit my space to hide all the electronics and stuff? if i need somewhere to put the battery i saw someone build a nice diamond plate cover for in between the frame rails.

All depends on if you plan on using an MFU unit. If yes then yes the unit takes up a lot of space between the main unit, speaker etc... many have done it i have not yet attempted it. You just have to be creative with space. Yes you can allways relocate your battery between your rails you would just need to make something to hold it in so it doesnt fall out. At the top of the page use the search and look up day cab. Look thru some of the truck threads and see how they got it all to fit. It can be done its just a tight fit. Hope that helps

Hi Tyler
![]() It's just a thought, but one guy I know used the hollow space in his saddle-tanks (fuel-tanks) to hide the battery in one and his ESC/receiver in the other. It worked really well and put them out of sight ![]() Good luck and have fun ![]() ![]() ![]() - RCT
