Also this is the first semi he has done. Check out his web page pitdawghydro.com. also big thanks to Tamiya Cowboy for the help of posting pic's.

It looks really nice, but $200 is a lot of paint.

$200 is a lot of paint if you are dealing with model paint but if you are using quality auto base/clear and primers that is about the same cost unless you have a complete mixing system and you can mix your color and clear a ounce at a time then $200 is a lot for auto paint.

What I was trying to say for the cost you spent it is about the same cost as quailty auto paint so $200 is not bad at all plus you have custom art work to boot.. $200 is a lot for paint if it is model paint ![]() ![]() Cant wait to see more picks.

I finally got my new trailer in yesterday!!! its a RC4WD.com transporter in red. Aluminum rims and toolboxs, its awesome! also got a RC4WD esc. Drove it for the first time in 8 yrs today. I i giggled like a school girl, and all i can think is the song 'Give me 40 acres and i'll turn this rig around'! let me know what you all think. and the new total length is 5ft' 10 inches long.

The truck and trailer look sweet! That is quite a combination! That trailer really matches the truck. I really like restoration builds, keep the updates coming!

*sigh*
Makes me want to shell out to get one of my cabs custom-painted. Wonder if they guys at the garage are as interested in R/C as one of their paint techis interested in Sci-Fi (agreed that Weber is a great writer, even outside of the Honorverse!) They got a booth, and do lots of repair work, wonder if they'd like to give smaller scale stuff a shot... And seeing yet another sweet trailer makes me anxious to get my Carson STN-L3 before they jack up the price again... then, its a few Bruders for load, or a tank or three (mebbe a tank with recovery/excavator options, eh?) WhiteWolf - who canna wait for spring, - & currently deluge'd in damp-snow! |

Took the truck and trailer out for a test drive. Darn center cap fell off plus a link bar came unscrewed and fell off. Big thanks to the wife for finding everything that fell off. Got a another truck almost complete.

Lucky...
Thats one thing a lotta guys don't realise, that despite the 'suspension' these things have, there is still enough vibration to loosen nuts and other fittings. Many hate the Tamiya Locktite because of its color, but it beats replacing parts, doesn't it? BUT Please - Don't Use CA as Locktite because its clear! Think about the poor SoB that has to get that apart if you sell your unit! And use theright locktite (industrial ones often require too much force to break the 'lock') I had to trash most of the hardware on a Leopard 1A4 when I found someone had used CA on the bolts instead of Tamiya locktite. I ~now~ know that MEK, aka plastic solvent, is as good at softening CA and epoxy as it is as a solvent-glue for plastics (be it styrene, ABS, lexan/polycarbonate, and a few others) And remember that a 'little' dab is lots. Best place is in the threads of the nut, and you can use a toothpick, long straight-pin, or even a piece of wire to apply it. Got a fine CA applicator tip? Use one of those! That tapping screw a bit loose in the part after a few rebuilds? Use a bit on the threads, and you're good to go. And its looking really nice, Bronco. I got word my Goldie was secured at the sale price ($610) and is due to be reshipped real soon. Last edited by WhiteWolf McBride; 03-14-2013 at 08:12 PM. |
