truck body help.
hey i'm about to start my next and most likely last truck for awhile. anyway i got this old tamiya scania r620 body i want to use, and i also want to shorten the cab a bit to make it a day cab so my questions are what is a easy way to
cut and fit the cab? and what is a good easy way to remove 1.1 autobody paint? any help would be great. |

Re: truck body help.
Not familiar with that body but ive had good success with one of these using the cutting blades on bodies.
I use brake fluid to remove any paint from plastics. Let it soak in a pan and keep brushing it on. You should have the paint loosened up and dissolved in a matter of 30 minutes depending on the thickness. Hope this helps.

Re: truck body help.
well i have been doing alot of research as to paint and glue removal and found that if the you are using ABS plastics do not use acitone being as the ABS will not hold up to it and will pretty much turn to silly puddy i know this is not a an answer but from what i have seen its a def dont for most of tamiya stuff

Re: truck body help.
Def do not use acetone, I use it to glue abs parts together after 3d printing them. It melts ABS instantly.

Re: truck body help.
Your best bet to cut itis score it with a razor a few times and start snapping, parts come right off with a pretty cleanliness, just slight refinishing... As for removing the paint, all depends what paint was used on it originally.... But if had great success submerging it in rubbing alcohol for a few hours

Re: truck body help.
DOT 4 brake fluid worked for my tamiya bruiser body
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQb7gQuP_4A the more you physically submerge it into the fluid, the better it works. will probably be best left over night. DO NOT USE DOT3!!
