Stellor,

You'll want a big enough diameter that you can fit whatever plugs thru it without snagging, so measure around the biggest plug.

As for feeding it in, you'll want to go to a dollar store or parety store, and get some of the long thin 'balloon animal' balloons. You'll just be using the end of one, like a 'condom' on the plug.

And remember that the loom shrinks down when you pull on the ends, so fasten one end, then gently tug to get it to collapse (like the way chinese finger trapds do!) and then fasten the other end and trim the excess.

I've use other msaterials for wire loomsin my day, including shoe-laces of various sizes, and you can even use paracord, after pulling the inner cord out.
