Thank you for the response.I know nothing about them. The black thing is a motor ? Do motors have different mounts ? and is there a specific size motor recommended for it?

Yea I have not used it either but the 540 style can motors have a standard bolt spacing for mounding.. I see in the discription it has a pinion gear that comes with it... You will need to use the pinion that comes with it as there is no adjustment slot if you plan on using a smaller or larger pinion gear...
Yes...The black thing looks to be a motor in front of it.....it looks like it mounts to the top of the frame...it likely sit up about as high as a stock motor does... You should be able to pick any 540 motor install the pinion and bolt it up to the transmission. If you are currently using a stock tamiya motor and trying to get the truck slowed down try a 55 or 65 turn motor. Higher the turn slower the RPM. Hey mate, I'm running the version of this trans that has the planetary reduction built in. It's pretty much the same base as this and they bolt a 4:1 reduction on the front. They're a really good size, much smaller than tamiya 2 speed, all metal geared. I'm using the wire to shift gears.
Uses a standard 540 can motor, with all the mounting gear included. My trans is the same as the one they use in the Armageddon dump truck. I bought in from a different website tho. |
