A small update. I spent the latter part of the afternoon and evening machining the rad and then bending up the hood. The hood still needs work but I had already been in the shop for too long and was hungry.lol
The rad started out as a piece of 4"x1/2".   You might be wondering why I machined out so much of the core area but left some.... The answer is....   Then the hood   Looking more like a truck now!
