Joe , you'd be surprised at how many old water line trenches I've come across where they threw the rocks back in on top . Even cast iron sewer lines that where leveled with blocks . What a mess those repairs where

Well that explains the "headstone" thing.lol It just seemed strange that it would naturally come to rest on edge under a couple feet of dirt. Mystery solved! I can sleep easy now.
