Lil bit more on the moldboard assembly. Got the braces done and the cylinder bracket made for the blade's pitch. Gotta clean all the solder up. I will sandblast all the metal before i prime it

I am going with the AT SD10G. I just got the nerve to sprang for a pump though, so the radio will be early next yr, after the holiday season.
Sand, sand, sand, then cover with fiberglass cloth and afix with CA. The CA fills 99.9 % of the cloth......sand, sand, filler, sand, sand.....rub ur fingers across it, then sand some more......then prime/paint Quote:

The circle and moldboard assembly is looking just great! Nice detail, and really like the novel approach to the circle gear - we often don't recognize a chain works from both sides and doesn't have to be the moving part. I agree with the others, how you make wood look like cast-iron is a wonder. Keep it up!

rcfarmer-your doing really great work! That model looks very complicated to me but looks like you have it well under control. Nice job!

This, your work, is insane, Rob! I cannot believe the painted parts for the blade lift are wood. This is going to be an incredible model, when done. I cannot wait to see what developes.

Here is a brief test the hydraulic steering........hooked it into my terragator pump to test how it should work.

It doesn't seem like it's turning very sharp or is it?

Graders don't turn very sharp but when he leans the wheels it will turn sharper.
Coming along nicely. What motor rpm, pump pressure and gpm is your pump operating at? |

WOW very nice Rob ! ! ! You should give me a lesson on soldering, you have it mastered.
How many spools are you going to have in the grader ( functions ) greg |

I guess I need to pay more attention when I see the municpal grader turn around, I thought they turned quite sharp without leaning the tires.
![]() I wonder if the Mammoth tires will roll on edge, sidewalls might be too soft. Perhaps stuffing the tires with plastic BB's will stiifen up the sidewalls without adding too much weight. What makes the difference in hyd flow is the size of hyd hose and fittings. What size do you currently have on your Gator Rob? 1.5mm ID? My current excav & wheel loader are using 2.5mm with the 350ml/min pump and cycle speed is significantly quicker, I would say more than double, than the older models with same pump & 1.5mm hose/fittings. |

Td9-I have never run any of this equipment before. I just like building different models.....I am building this one from pictures only. So far, I have probably taken about 200 pictures to build each pices.
Greg-6 spools when completely done. After building the Gator, the soldering is a breeze now ![]() ![]() Patience is always the third hand....
