Just beautiful, a dream coming true for you Steve. To scratch build something like this is truly amazing. Like Joe, was just wondering what your weight currently is and what is the approximate total weight when finished? I have the RC4WD Dozer and it is just around 50 lbs, and ripping very hard clay is a challenge, which I like, but yours with all that steel should really dig, if you do add the ripper?

Nice job!!! Looks like you spent many hours on the track parts and drive....wow.....I would have run out of patients long before getting all the track pads on the links!! Lol. Keep up the nice work!!
(This dozer is 1/10 scale right??) |

I assembled them while waiting on tool changes or part switch out on the mill and lathe, so I had some break time in there . Scale is just a hair bigger then 1:12th .

Steve-If I remember correctly you put one from each motor lead to the motor case. Been a while since I did this so you may want to check with someone else but I am pretty sure this is how I did it. Worked good, no radio glitches.

The Capacitors are to keep motors from sending emf noise out. If just 2 caps, they go from each lead to the motor can. 3 is better, with the other spanning both leads. Shorter legs are better so they can't act like antenna.

Guys these are resisters not capacitors . I'll have to contact dimension eng to see why they put the resisters in with no diagram as to placement .

thanks frizzen, I downloaded it a while back . Brain is proper now and I read threw the publication again . It turns out they're not needed in this application . I bought this 1 from robot shop and not Dimension, it turns out they add stuff to the package for same price as from dimension .

Looking very good Steve, all dozer project interesting to follow. Will for shure move dirt long before mine will.
Electrical drive is a must when building "smaller" model, wish I have done that from beginning. How long time will battery last when running? /Dan |

Great looking dozer!! Really like that it's not another cat, something different for a change!! What year is that machine? Is there also a spring and plunger behind the grease track tensioner??

Dan I cycled each side with no load without the sabertooth with a 11.1V lipo 2100MaH batts, I got 21-25 mins when batt got to 11.5V . I'll be running on a 18.5V 10900MaH lipo . KP, yes spring behind grease ram a must . As for year, since I couldn't get the proper yellow, lets say the years of the Komatsu / Dresser merger . Right before they came out with the TD40C . Painted Komatsu yellow which Is the paint we got from the dealer to repaint my TD8E years ago . Cab interior should be tan, but the primer gray is close to komatsu's gray interior so I went with it ![]()
