1:16 Osswald - Wedico Mercedes Benz SK Facelift 3544 AK Dump Truck

It is my utopian truck that I have now.

It include 8x8 drive system, sound, light and hydrolic.

When I bought it, it had a MAN cab and MAN accessories. Now I convert it to Mercedes Benz SK short daily cab and I uses mercedes stuff.





Firstly I sparated dumper than cab. Dumper german meiller 3 way. Producer of it osswald. All part of the truck comes from osswald minor of them wedico.



Than I emptied hydrolic tank.

axles comes from osswald modellabu. Differanstielles comes from stahl modellbau.

Hydrolic boom is the same with scaleart. The producer should be leimbach. Hydrolic electronic comes from wedico. Leimbach 100 times better than wedico, there is no leaking no powerless, no pain.

Addition, When I got the truck hydolic tank was separated from hydrolic motor. I put together them. Although it was not necessarily, I used metal glue for solidification.






There is a unique system for front axle produced by osswald (obwald) modellbau. I tried to change order of them but I could not. There was a problem with fenders.






Engine standart buhlerr. Gear is osswald brand (2 stage). There is one out on it and there is a separator for all wheel drive.



There is a standart wedico electric system on it.
I changed the oil depot with scaleart brand. It is much more realistic from wedico and much more usefull. I put ESC and hydrolic electronic in it.




I made some changes on the osswald cab. Due to my usage I do not need to open back part, therefore I merged all back part and I glued them. Then I merged all parts of cab. Result was perfect and fit.




I am going paint the rims therefore I split the rims with 2.5 alian.




Before Painting, I made all mechanical tries. Then truck will be seem like :

After long time, I made some upgrades on my truck.

Firstly, I changed electrical system with servonaut, so I changed interior of the cab. Instead of wedico plastic stuff, I used more realistic hand made center console with gear. I adapted it to osswald alü part. Additionally I remove center coloum of the this alü part. I think it seems much more realistic now. As final I am going to paint this part to light dark grey.



I have a SK serie photo collection for improvement of my truck because SK was not a populer truck in Turkey in the past. According to pictures many of the trucks have double horn on their roof on the right side. I did the same application to my truck.



Todays last operation, There is a mistake on the rear suspantions. It is wrongly near the center. I changed their place acording to real plan of the truck. I removed them aprox 1 cm to back. Now it seems more realistic. Additionally I tried my new fenders.

I finished all cab and dumper work. Because of epoxy paint some of the dumper parts damaged. I never offer to anybody to use epoxy on non-metal surface.

I think that it is one of the most detailed cab as a osswald mercedes SK. I am really open to improve or to make it more realistic my cab and truck. For example I could not find appropiate decals for 3544 for sides.

I am here with many new updates on my Truck. I believe that after these updates, my truck is a full scale Mercedes SK. It will be handmade more than a obwald or scaleart.
First I would like changed order differential front differantielles. I made them closer. Due to I changed order, I moved the rear fenders a little. After I updated drive unit. Finally, front axles of the truck seems much more realistic and fully functional.




Now I made change rear axles . I made them little narrower according to blueprint.



Lastly, I made a change on rear light bar. It should join like in the pictures instead of standart. Finally, I painted all the paint chips and unpainted areas. I wiil paint oil tank next time.

If you check old pics, storage tank was not fit for the gap because of un scale place of diferantielles. Now I have enough space for it, and it is completely the same as real. Additionally, I have black painted mirrors. There is no chrome in mercedes in german trucks.

I added scaleart gearbox instead of osswald and I get more gap under cab.


I checked more than 200 pictures of real mercedes SK trucks and I see that there is a short exhaust on the lesf side. It is similar with wedico one.

Now last operations, I added servonaut SMX and M20+ on my truck. I used wedico esc for hydrolik pump.

I painted center of the rims to red. Generally all old mercedes or german trucks has red rim center Anymore compaines paint it grey.



Than I set the servo, smx, and receiver under of the cab. I covered them with real car coverage. It is sticky and it strongly keep together all of them. Additionly I left m20+ on the gearbox. Then I put same coverage on it. now it is invisible when dumper closes



when I made first setup there were little leakage from hydrolic oil, so I split oil tank and pump and I made tighten the screws. Then I tested. Now there is no leakage.



After everting done and everying works perfectly, I prepared a place at home and took a couple videos here is pictures and videos

Thanks a lot for your good words Side steps comes from obwald modellbau. I know that scaleart sells them too.

I add new videos of my truck.

After I took videos I made some chances on the truck. I used 3s lifepo and 12volt nimh batery on the videos; however, loaded truck some times can not show a good performance on ramp, so I upgraded batttery and gearbox I used standart scaleart gearbox on truck the fast one is so weak; therefore, I cancelled it. I added a slicon pipe on the gear rod and now I only use strong gear and save more empty lot on the chassis not using a servo.

I needed more empty area on chasis because I have to empty interior of the cab. intended to use 4s lifepo and it fills all interior part of the cab. Pictures new interior pictures are here. I am going to add new videos with 4s lifepo. So you guys can see its perfomance.
