After running my truck outdoors it has gathered dust dirt and I would like to get it back to a "Show Quality" appearance. What tools and techniques are best for getting that new truck look again? Thanks, Nick

Hi, to start, an air compressor works great. Lots of Q-Tips.....

How about the tires? Should I use some tire shine? Or use something different to restore them back to the original black?

Hi, I have used some tire dressing in the past. Like an Armour All type of liquid along with using an old tooth brush to get in all of the tire grooves. But some of that stuff will attract more dust and dirt over time. So maybe something with less shine? I am not an expert on that by any means. Personally I like my machines to have the dirty look. But I do clean under the hood and in the important areas for functionality, that is where the air compressor and the Q-tips come into play. I have one machine that I haven't used much because I was going to sell it. I keep that one covered on a shelf for dust.
What type of vehicle are you cleaning? |

I was thinking the same thing about dressing collecting more dust and dirt. It looks pretty at the beginning but a pita at the end, especially for off road full size. I'm trying to clean up my grand hauler since I drive it through dirt and kicks up dust on the pavement. I'm always driving my truck outside and is starting to look rough on the outside. For the tires I might just have to go with soap and water. Might be time for new paint as well.

Regulate the air compressor down to like 20psi so it won't blow off glued details.
Soft detail paintbrush to loosen dirt around things. Or convince someone to build a scale truck wash...
