RC4WD 870K Loader – No Battery

I received my 870K Loader a week ago. I can’t say much about it, because there is no battery available. It just sits. The battery referenced on the 870K web page is for the 4200XL and will not fit. Mike of RC4WD says a new battery should be available in 2 – 3 weeks. If I’d known this, I might have postponed ordering until Spring. In 4 weeks, it could be the rainy season.

RC4WD says the battery specs are: 11.1V 30C 5000mAh 3S LiPo. Battery size must not exceed: 140mm X 30mm X 40mm

The ESC has an XT60 connector.

If anyone has found a battery that will fit, please let me know. I found one that might work, but it could be a tight fit.

Also, if anyone has mapped out the radio controls, please let me know what you found. I’d like to run the cylinders through their limits by hand, before running the pump, if I can.

Overall the 870K looks good – impressive. A closer look found that two cylinder caps were loose. I just pressed them back onto the cylinders. Hopefully that is all that was needed?

RC4WD is discounting the 870K by $200, because there is no longer a sound system.

Shipping is direct from Hong Kong, via DHL. The 870K shipped a week after the wire transfer. From the day it was shipped, it only took three days to get to me. I am on the west coast, but not in any kind of metropolitan area.

More once I am able to run it.

Is that cylinder cap non functional? As in its for cosmetic looks? If so I don't think it would matter.

Congratulations on your machine I've heard it's a beast. If you go to YouTube and look up diggingwithmartin he has one you ask where he got his battery from.

TENERGY has a battery that will fit. It's charging!

A YouTube video shows a mod to fit the 4200xl battery. It's a bit more than I'd want to do.

The video also goes through the radio controls. They're what you would expect. The only question I really had was how to shift low/high.

I purchased my battery from Max amp just give them the dimensions and the voltage they are great to deal with

The TENERGY I found is Item #31284, a 5000mah, 25C battery. BUT, I received one that was DOA (0.0 volts) and no longer buy TENERGY.

I've switched to FLOUREON LiPos, which I buy from Amazon.com. eBay is another source.

The LiPo I purchased is a FLOUREON 11.1V 5500mAh 3S 25C-40C(Max) XT60 Plug (5.42*1.70*1.22 inch) - part no. 1043128. You may have to get a different connector and use an adapter.

Good question I know they ship to the states but not sure since it's a lipo battery. These guys are located within the US and also offer free shipping

Another possibility is going with the Traxxas 8400 lipo but don't get it with the ID connector as that's only for the Traxxas models.
