I also use an rds8000. If the menus are confusing, check out page 38 of the manual. It gives a visual representation of element locations. I'll scan mine if needed.

First thing to do it put in into Airplane mode so there is no mixing, then i turn on advanced mode so i have a few more options, like center on all channels. Follow the instructions for how to bind the rx (receiver) to the tx. Vertical movement of the left stick is rx port 3, horizontal movement of the right stick is rx port 2. For the ramps if you want just up or down control i'd use the two position switch on the top left of the transmitter. It may be rx port 6, but i can't remember. Adjust the endpoints (EPA) of the ramp servo to get just enough travel.

I've never used an MFU, so that's all i know. It's a great radio.
