my attempt at a dozer build
well this is my first dozer let me know what you think based loosly on a komatsu d61

Cool looking scratch built dozer. What did you do for drive motors & servos for lift?

well the tracks are off my excavators and the lift is not servo 2 servos where not strong enough so i put a motor in there with a shaft through it to each side for the lifti will get some vids up soon

Here is a photo of the chain I use Neil, the front ideler is made on the lathe, you can see at the front of the track frame there is a insert which is spring loaded so that if a rock gets in the chain it just adjusts and keeps on rolling..

I use teflon on the bottom of the undercarrage instead of rollers so there is no drag and nothing ever plugs up with dirt

My D8 tracks and pads are the same as the Hitachi hoe

im not sure the rpm on the motors for the tracks they came with them but i bought 6 for my dump truck from ebay at 15 rpm and those i cannot stop them and i paid like 30 bucks oh that link you gave me for the chain i guess you just called them and ordered thanks for all the help greg

Nice build. You have captured the proportions on the cab & body sheetmetal for a D61 very nicely. Since I'm a big Komatsu fan, it is good to see some being built.

Niel , flow Gregs build on his tracks and bottom , that should work well for you . I tend to get on the heavy side of things because of the soil I have or lack of
