Fortunately I was able to dry my tears and move forward after not being able to go to Indy. We quickly realized that we have the next 4 days with no plans and no idea what to do!
![]() I thought, that's it. All the ideas and plans I was putting off because of the show can now begin! ![]() Here is what I did to a pallet I was using to keep firewood up off the ground. ![]() ![]() Capped it with a 6 dollar sheet of flooring underlay, some paint and voila!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and of course ya gotta have signage!!!! ![]() ![]() My plan is to move the cargo and railings which are just resting on the dock, indoors when not in use. Whats left is nothing but the dock surface which we can leave to the elements come winter. Still trying to keep things as backyard friendly as possible. Consider this, I have trees above me. Birds like to sit in trees....birds like to s*it in trees ![]() ![]() ![]() anyway. Thanks for looking and tell me what ya think. ![]() Mario |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I want to build an entire city in my backyard, but I didn't think of just utilizing a pallet for the base of my logistics center. Fabulous idea, I don't think I would have ever come up with it on my own. ![]() ![]() ![]() If you have any other pearls of wisdom, please don't hesitate to send them my way. ![]() - RCT p.s. Is there any possibility of my getting my hands on one of those CAT banners? ![]()

FYI. a hardwood pallet 5 1/2" high can be used as a perfect height for a loading dock. The only reason there is a little slope to the trailer height is because the truck is sitting on dirt at a lower level than the dock. I plan to add a little material in front of the dock and all should be good! ![]() heres some pics of the S&M fleet at the dock! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These pics are for Nathan! I liked your suggestion and here it is. ![]() ![]() Sorry Jason, It took me 19 years with the company before I got that banner, but If I come across another....I'll let ya know ![]() Mario |

Mario, Thank you for all the wonderful photos and the info. It's great to see what you have accomplished in such a short amount of time.
![]() My backyard is just waiting for me to decide on a configuration that I'm happy with and start building. I live on a half-acre; Plenty of room to play. ![]() Don't fret about the banner. ![]() - RCT

My pleasure RCT
![]() the first thing I learned about this site is how nobody is looking for a pat on the back or claim to fame for what they do..... It's all about sharing ideas and how far the human imagination can go. ![]() Did a video update on our backyard road....which Susan did a bobtail loop already with her truck and I missed it! ![]() ![]() ![]() http://youtu.be/1Q6_oXr7Wi0 Thanks for looking ![]() ![]() Mario |

Mario, your new dock looks great. I would have never thought about using a pallet for something like that, but it's perfect for the job. The new company logos look really nice too. I especially like them on the fuel tanks!

Mario your deal with U.S. customs happen to me with Canadian customs but after I got copies of the court papers and took them to the border they changed my static so I could enter canada. It is a pain in the but to have to get all the paper work from the court especially after a long time and back when I had my problem they did not have computers like today. Ed

Thanks Dwayne. The road and dock has been a blast! My neighbour was over, I let him drive my truck. He spun out and made a rut by the loading dock so I brought the loader over on the lowboy with Sue's truck ( I think she was asleep by the time this all happened)
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For sure you have to come up here if possible! One casual lap of the road is almost a 3 minute trip with lots of changes along the way! Big enough we could have a dozen trucks all running at the same time and not be in each others way! ![]() ![]() Mario |
