Ahhhh I would of thought that would of cut cleaner you might want to sharpen the blade on it. And the metal work is true art for sure.. And for God sakes please paint it something other than black..

looks pretty slick pops. I think black would be the best choice for something this cool. The only problem is black tends to show scratches.

Looking real good Fred. I am going to have to start playing with the aluminum soon. I intend to build my trailer out of it. Where are you finding the aluminum at. I have looked at some of the online places and can't find angles and channel in those sizes. Next question I am interested in the corner clamps you have that you used on the bed. Where did ya find them?
And I would put in my 2 cents on the color but I think it's obvious. ![]() ![]() -Mike

Thanks Guys!
Was going to paint frame, boom & bed black.Cab either dark or light blue. Dreamweaver,Home-dip-shyt & lowes are a good place for starters.Or go to a metal supplier which is cheaper. Do you have any metal usa's around you? That's where I get most of my stuff. Alarge part of the pieces I use I have to cut to scale because you can't buy it in a small enough size. Well....made boom support,& mounted. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Didn't like the way control boxes looked,so remade them also. ![]() ![]() Thanks for lookin! FGD Wait till you boys see what I'm going to use for hydraulic cylinders for outriggers. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks Fred, I will check for some dealers around here. I have never heard of the place you are talking about but I am sure there has got to be a place like it here.

Intriguing project there Freddy.
![]() I was thinking a rack & pinion design might work sweetly for sliding out your outrigger arms, one less hyd valve & cyls. Did you see Krys's knuckle boom trk, he was using a nifty fork cradle for no hands on to load/unload the freight. ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUoSMk-4-ow (starting @2 minute mark) |

TC1,Next the trailer, then stuff it with runnin guts,do the body work, then the paint shop. It's gunna be a bit before she has some color in er cheeks.
Joe,I'm going to be a happy guy if it all works smooth.Once I'm happy, then comes the add ons. Also the outrigger slides will move all 4 at the same time & only use one channel. Mechanical, not hydraulics. ![]() Thanks Guys! Not much time to work on er today.Mounted oil tank, made rear bumper & hitch plate. & mounted hitch. ![]() ![]() Well.... front bumper, crane extension,& then the trailer. ![]() Thanks for lookin! Freddy - anxious to see how you pull of the outrigger portion - got some ideas of my own that would also drop the legs in place and hold weight
![]() The bed frame is outstanding - did you weld it or just hardware it? nice build through and through ....... |

Freddy, couple of questions for you. Where do you get your hydraulics and where did you get the diamond plate?
Do you use a CNC machine for cutting your parts. This is looking great, keep up the good work!!! A+ |
