Fred, I was going to say that the skidder looks like it is factory built but it looks way better that a factory could make it ,well done. Stay with that RC track skidder idea.

Thanks having a look at the Tigercat Joe, I appreciate your opinion. As far as the track skidder goes, its the one I would like to build. I will need to put it off for a while because I'm working on a 1946 John Deere LA ( full sized). Its not a restoration, just a complete overhaul with a paint job included. Then I have a 1/16 scale Broder tractor to build. After that, the Cat skidder would be next. I have been working on the concept and drawings. I'm going to need some help with the electronics and the best way to build the Tracks with the least amount of friction. Thanks again. Fred

Wow! That skidder is amazing. I love the Tigercat. A 527 would be pretty nice too.

Thought I would add these pictures of the Madill 046 for those who may not have seen them. Now building a Broder Tractor, be a while yet before pictures. Looking forward to seeing a Cat 527 RC skidder that should be taking shape in some of our fellow members shops. Fred

The Broder Tractor is slowly taking shape. Its a small 3 wheeled tractor built in the early 1900s. Fred

Wow, the Broder is looking very nice. Look at the engine detail! I've never seen a tractor with one driven wheel. I am more used to seeing them the other way around. Two driven wheels, and tricycle steering wheel up front. Definitely a one of a kind model.

The Broder Tractor is finished. This is a one of a kind, built from a sales flyer and a picture, the original tractor was built by American Universal Tractor company out of Portland Oregon. The model is scratch built, all steel and powder coated. The actual model is a dark gray but the pictures were taken in low light, no flash, so the color is not very accurate. Happy New Year everyone. Fred

Thanks Lou, I'm working on my John Deere now, I did try to buy some K1
chain for building the tracks, I emailed 3 differant suppliers without any response so I set the CAT SKIDDER project to the back burner for now and started another project. Fred |

Greg, yes, thats what I was looking for, you have had such good sucess with it that I think thats the way to go.
I have another project started, so I will be busy on it the rest of the winter. It won't be RC but a person will be able to drive and operate it, I'll wait to describe it with pictures, provided its not a failure. Its a unique project. Fred |

Fred. Will you adopt me for a grandson? That's going to be great to see him driving it in a parade. He'll be so proud. What brand of tractor is it, looks McCormick to me. Keep the pictures coming.
