I always thought the helical gears, steel synchronizers and aluminum case in Izzy's daycab was very cool. I decided to build one myself. The thing is I like how a stock Tamiya truck bolts together so clean and easy but on the other hand I'm wanting an AWD and there is better ways to go about that than this transmission so in the end I may not use it on my build anyways. If I do use it it will also get a PMD 4:1 bolt on reduction. I still need to open it back up and grease the gears before using. Sorry about the shadows.
Izzy I had to use the pictures in your build as a reference as well as Wild Willy's Racing Custom R/C, He has the Tamiya instructions on-line. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Pretty! Do these use the same ratios or have they revised them?

They have the same ratios but come with three different pinion gears. I would still advise a GRU.
