4200XL - How to run off a 12v car battery

Hi,

I'm looking to run my excavator off a 12 car battery, I have attached a photo of the battery I plan to use. I have 5 meters of 12AWG lipo wire I can use. Is it just a case of connecting it to the car battery or should I fit an online fuse? I'm just concerned about the high amps of the car battery as I don't want to damage any of the electronics.
