Re: Another BC fishing vessel...
I am as much of a dry lander as there has ever been, I don't know nothing or care nothing about boats but both of those are beautiful! Amazed at the work you turn out.

Re: Another BC fishing vessel...
Thanks guys. I have been wanting to upgrade this to a 2.4 TX/RX for a long time but just hadn't got around to it. I have also been collecting some other devices for it too so with the arrival of some parts last week I decided to open things up and make the changes.
I used a 6ch Orange RX and my DX6i for radio gear and a couple of electronic switches from Hobby King to control my lighting and the newly added water pump. I picked up this $5 pump from Princess Auto a few weeks ago thinking it may work for this project. It turns out that it works perfectly so I will be buying another if they still have stock. On our real fish boat we have a seperate engine that runs our lighting and one of our wash down pumps. It uses a heat exchanger and runs sea water through the exhaust manifold to help cool the engine. One through-hull picks water up near the keel and the other spits it back out above the water line. I used the same setup in the model and it actually looks fairly realistic when operating. Here's a couple videos of it in action once I was finished doing the work. It was quite winding yesterday and in the first video the boat almost rolls over in a big gust of wind! It blew the skiff right off of the roof! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLRO...tJ-DusnO8Onw7A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZuo...tJ-DusnO8Onw7A Reg Last edited by RCP57; 06-16-2014 at 09:41 AM. |

Re: Another BC fishing vessel...
Nice video, the gust of wind came as a nice surprise! Looks sharp with the outriggers fully out. Gotta love Princess Auto for cheap gear. I'm pretty sure I saw that pump, but had so use for it at the time. It seems to serve your purpose well.

Cool Reg. What do your outriggers look like. Wondering how they track so straight
