steering pump body modification
Hello, i'm Slah from Tunisia, and this is my first post.
i want to explore the hydraulic world so i'm manufacturing an excavator. I have some experience with electric RC trucks, excavators, planes and cars, and now i want to convert to hydraulic because it's amazing and more powerful. The big problem is that we havn't a supplier for pumps and i havn't much money to buy from other countries and internet shops. so the idea is to modify a power steering pump from a car and use it in my first project. i have found a pump like this one : the main Body is big so i want to redezign a new body like a cylindre and the heart of the pump will fits in. the diameter of the heart is about 45mm, so i think the whole new pump will have 50mm. have anyone of you know a good idea to build the new casing for the pump? i have an idea and i'm drawing it with some softs and i will show you the design when its ready, but for now i want some comments from members here. Thank you. Slah |

Re: steering pump body modification
What is the pump from? I'm sure you could make it work but it will be overkill. You will need a lot of power to turn it but probably won't need to spin it very fast.
