Hercules Hobby 20 ft container trailer
Just wanted to post sort of a build/review about the Hercules Hobby 20ft container trailer.
I purchased the the trailer from www.truescaletrucks.com. The shipping was fast and Adam answered all of my questions via Facebook. Here is a link to the page https://www.facebook.com/Truescaletrucks/ So far I am happy with the quality of the product. For the price i highly recommend this trailer. Here are a few pics of the build so far. I will post more pics as i go. One thing I was told by The company and also another member on this forum was the hardware was very soft and strip easy. Im using a Hudy phillips screwdriver and I've yet to strip one. Some other things I like about the kit is that it includes ball bearings for the axles, The sticker sheet seems to be of way higher quality material than Tamiya, and the tires have a foam insert in them. I will post progress in the next few days. May be kind of a boring review but I hope it may encourage other members to try some of the Hercules Hobby kits. |

Re: Hercules Hobby 20 ft container trailer
I've just finished building one of their containers which was all good and went together very well. The build quality is excellent just like Tamiya but the screws can be a little soft.

Re: Hercules Hobby 20 ft container trailer
I have wanted to buy one of their 20fts for a while now as I painted all my container chassis and don't like the 40, good to know it goes together well.
Wish you didn't have to cut out the tv dinner tray (container sides) like the tamiya ones though

Re: Hercules Hobby 20 ft container trailer
Received and built my container over the last week.
I would say about 80% of a Tamiya container. Screws are a little soft, definitely philips and not JIS. My roof sheet had imperfections in it, little bubbles and black contaminants embedded into it. I understand why Tamiya molds the poly in white and not clear, you will use way more paint. One or two of my corner pieces wasn't coated in their silver paint (not a problem if painting, but worthy of note). Instructions are nowhere near Tamiyas. Some stuff you had to guess. Some of the decals aren't on the sheet, the maersk star logo for the doors, the .com logo, and another which I forget, but are in the manual. and I felt the side logos were a little big. Just noting the not quite up to par stuff. It is still a great clone container and I would definitely buy one again! Also to note, Tamiya doesn't do a 20ft container (but has provisions for them front and rear on the 40ft trailer). I center mounted mine with some aftermarket twist lock cross bars.
