DAF F1300
It's not that I don't have project enough. There is always room for that special extra one. I am modeling a construction site. And as moust of the modelbuilders the memders of my little club have top range trucks. But not all the goods on a construction site are brought by the shiniest and most powerfull trucks. To get the best result I needed something else. Being sick with the fleu for a few days with my tablet. I found this little one that filled the gap.
This time it was to challenge myself to build is as cheap as possible. Grtz PetervR |

Re: DAF F1300
cheap, small, just the right truck to experiment with. the cab is an "club of 4" cab. designed by 4 truckbuilders used by many. Daf used it in 2 versions I'm building the first one.
For using it on the club-layout I needed a trailer. and to stay off the beaten track with this truck the trailer is light one. in europe this type is usually seen behind a car or a van. also there isn't more drawn than this scetch. builing cheap. the truck and trailer are budgetted at 180 euro, it can be done by re-using of canaballising other projects. I'm not going to do that. I am going to use leftovers form other projects or other materials. ply-wood 3 and 5mm for the beds, alu profiles, from my general stock. the trailer has a frame made of bamboo sticks. |

Re: DAF F1300
Hi thanks I have projects enough. Or way to many. About this one I can build it cheap. I have some left overs.
The frontaxle. Once I had an old wedico axle in parts and some silicone for a mold mixed to much. A day later I had a mold for the old wedico axle. It needs some attention but it will do. Because the cab is not the usual width the axle middle part is more narrow that the original wedico. The copperwire is just for now. The wheels are also a resin cast. Again not perfect. It's an experiment. It looks to roll good enough. For the looks they will be replaced in the future. The tires also an experiment. Now on the wheel is a wide version. I'm going to cast the narrow version. The tire has a 65mm diameter and fits a regular 1:16 rim. I hope it works Grtz PetervR |

Re: DAF F1300
That's really cool, is this another cardboard composite cab?
It's nice to see it scratch built to this level. Can't wait for updates |

Re: DAF F1300
Hi just an other update.
First the chassis. Or well the bed is the chassis al this point. The alu profile is fixed to the bed. I still need to put some crossmembers in. I also made the wooden box to hold te battery. Builing with alternative materials an in need of a small hinge. I ended up with the hinge of a sigarebox. And by using that hinge I decided to use the rest of the box too. And I made a small latch from brass wire. The bumper is made to fit over the front of the chassis. But I didn't put the foglight an high beam in the lower bumper. That didn't fit my lighting plan. At this point the cab is leaning back. Thats going to be fixed. Thats it for now. I'll be back soon the first parts for the rearaxle are ordered. I'm not going to spend all my budget on a single rearaxle. All about that later Grtz PetervR |

Re: DAF F1300
That rear axle is going to be a frankensteins monster. I don't have parts to show. I just can tell about the plan. It will be based on a mst cmx crawleraxle. I hope to use the center axlebody. And the centerdiff. But that diff is an locked diff. I'm going to fit the diff gears of a tamiya cc-01 in it to unlock it. With ballbearing from azia hobs and rims from germany. And some homemade parts should it be a working axle
