Re: My Stretched globeliner
This is a really nice looking truck. I like the inventive way to hang the rear fenders hidden and use existing holes nice. Where did you get those tires i like the realistic look on the treads?

Re: My Stretched globeliner
Me too! I hope to finish the fenders this week unless I scrap them and order some. Hopefully I'll be able to order a few things this week from a few places to get the rebuild moving along, so I can finish the trailer. The trailer will end up getting matching fenders, rear bumper and paint as the truck. Its going to look nice when done. My goal is to finish by Indy so I can try to get it there this year. Would be my first show so I really want to make it there.

Yes I will be there with what ever I have finished would be my first show for the r/c trucks, I have been room trading at the Indy show for the past 9 years though and see the guys with the trucks every year and I finally bit the bullet and bought some...

Re: My Stretched globeliner
Made some progress today to make the back of the truck look more like this
So i got some brass and after a few attempts got the hang of soldering it here was one of the first test fits I noticed that the top bar was not level so i had to make a few adjustments.. Now i was trying to figure out how to attatch the stacks so i cut off the bottom curve off the stacks (ill later glue them back in the right direction) and made some mount holes to use my exsisting stock stacks with the set of bull pipes from Russ that i have. they are not going to sit that far back was just testing fitment. here are a few pics of what it will look like after i have Russ make me some air cleaners. i used wood for a mock up. Before cleaners With Mock up cleaners What do you think so far?? Im still working on the fenders. and Still may have those made so they are single and all match. Now im trying to figure out where i am going to put my battery and MFU controls since once mounted i will no longer have acess to the back of the cab..... Any ideas or suggestions?? |

Re: My Stretched globeliner
I would put the battery in between the framerails under the deckplate..you will just have to make the wires longer and to make it easy to charge in the truck..
hope his helps alittle

Re: My Stretched globeliner
as far as the mfu switches..I would use knight hauler steps..looks like you added a tool box on the frame and it hides the switches until you open it..

Re: My Stretched globeliner
hmmm both of those ideas might just work! i was thinking of cutting a few holes in one of the tanks and mount the MFU control in there. I just need access to the on/off and the volume control. All other features i control from the transmitter..

Re: My Stretched globeliner
ok i made some more progress tonight. i stripped the cab down originaly to better test the "stack rack" so heres tonights progress thus far..
started with this had to run her around the basement. then tore down drilled the holes and moutned new rack re ran all my wires and relocate my battery here ended up with MFU controls on the frame for now Closer shots of the new rack And thats what i got done tonight And she is ready to run!! Might tear down again tomorrow and put back the 55 turn motor... Put in a 65 in just to see what the difference would be. |

Re: My Stretched globeliner
Your fenders look great they are turning out just fine, putting the battery between the frame rails will surely give you that clean look... the exhaust is coming along great...

Re: My Stretched globeliner
I'll second the nice job on the stack rack! It it will look really good with the cleaners on there. Let me know what you think of the difference in the 2 motors, I was getting ready to order a 55 turn for mine this weekend.

Re: My Stretched globeliner
I agree with John mounting the battery under the truck would be your best bet and it would look very clean.
