Justin's Peterbuilt DayCab (Tamiya KingHauler)...
Started a new build, a Tamiya King Hauler. I will be starting off with a "Joe's Custom Truck Shop" frame.

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
Got the new frame swapped in, I will paint it later after everything is mocked up. Stock frame was 22 3/4", new "Joes" frame is 28".
And the flex shot. |

Length is perfect. What colors do you have in mind for paint?

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
The truck will be a two tone black with a orange bottom, like my chevy scaler.

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
Updates...
-Got some parts in the mail, this rig was missing a lot of pieces when I got it. -Installed the trans and found a old silvercan in my toolbox I tossed in. -Bolted the cab floor pan in and dremeled a space for the motor. (I will be making a center console to cover the motor later) -Made a styrene sleeper pan that is bolted to the trans. All the tronics will go in the sleeper. |

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
Looking good! Did you have to modify the fuel tank and step mounts to get them to fit the frame?

Per the fuel tanks, with guidance from "Joe", you just have to shave down the inside of the bracket just a bit to get them to fit. The fit just fine. |

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
I have a question for ya.
Why did you put the tranny back so far? And don't you have the sleeper floor? I was just wondering is all. |

I don't have the sleeper floor, I bought this off a forum and it happened to "not" come with everything.....lesson learned. |

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
I think I will be ok with what I have but I am looking for some King Hauler mirror assemblies, front grill mesh, misc sleeper handles and head light lenses.

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
Here is a little trailer test video.
I didn't know that there was a mechanism that closed the tractor trailer support legs while you hitched it up, its pretty cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymUHsxzcc1w |

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
I haven't driven with the stock frame before, I am sure it turned better.
BTW, I orderd another sleeper and two more fuel tanks. |
