Yep lets put it this way , I could buy a rock crusher from Premacon + a scale art RTR 963 for what I'm paying for it and that is a used machine . A new 1 would be more then my mortgage .

Steve, have you got that Mazak going yet?

I program and run a Mazak Quick Turn 250 MSY. 2 spindles, 12 tools, live tooling, Y-axis too. Mine is a little newer, from early 00's. Has the Nexus controller.

Also run a 700D II 50 taper mill. Big sumbich. Thats an '06 machine with the Matrix controller.

Do you plan on using any CAM programs or are you going to program at the controller? I was floored by how easy the programming was. I had never ran a Mazak a day in my life and was able to figure it out with little training.

Good luck!

I program at the control . Maztrol is so darn easy it threw me off at 1st cam for a 2 axis lathe just seemed like a waste . I may be looking into a vtc 16 in the near future

Can you add capacitors on your powerline, to help counter the flickering?
Cheer's, Neil.

Neil I only have a 100A sub panel in the shop I should have at least 200A . with both machines running with the spindle accel/decel time set higher (i could go more ) and the Air compressor kicking on , I'm taxing that 100A hard . I'm debating a new 400A sev. to the barn/shop or just putting another 200A panel in the basement shop for now . Either way $$
