Re: First Build - King Hauler

Re: First Build - King Hauler
Your trailer's main frame is looking really nice. Great start to a drop deck! Did you cut and curve the webs off the rear rails to flow into the drop, from the rear? That's a nice touch.

my machine shop consists of a scroll saw, 18v drill and some files, so it isnt anything too elaborate! i notched the suspension frame and bent the top over a piece of 1/8" i cut out to give it the curved look of a fontaine double drop. i plan on getting some aluminum brazing supplies and trying my hand at that. |

Re: First Build - King Hauler
Well its update time.
re did the frame rails and traded out russ's old style air ride for the new, stretched the frame a little and added some goodies. work truck bumper and center rear bumper from russ also, the rims are IHB and the tanks i trimmed the step mounts off the stock ones and flipped them. (thanks dwayne) its still in mock up as there are a few more things to change but ive got the basics down, and it drives now! although quietly, but it does. the pics arent the best but it was early (or late? 4am anyway) when i was taking them

Re: First Build - King Hauler
Looking sweet Dude! I like how the chicken lights are incorporated into the sleeper skirts . Can't wait to see it all lit up!
Mario Oh yeah, the driveshaft looks real beefy! Is that a rc4wd shaft? |

the drive shaft is a $11 special. if you look back in this thread i made a lift axle from some copper pipe and gorilla glue...... where i learned just how strong gorilla glue is. its a piece of 1/2" styrene tube with traxxas driveshafts glued in the ends also, i spread the drives out to scale 60" spread, and made a small driveshaft the same way.
