Well can I ask for a bit more help from you? what scale lengths and accuracy did you order for the DRO on your Bridgeport? I have been in touch with them, seems easier than shopping in the high street here

Yeah, me and the wife moved here 8 years ago from near Oxford, our 2 girls were born here (age 5 & 7 now) so are proper bi-lingual.

I went for 1x700 & 1x300 with 5 micron accuracy, I went with a 2 axis as thats what was on it and am looking at a digital scale for the quill, didn't see the point in paying the extra for a 3 axis system. They seem a good company to deal with, answer emails real quick.

You seem to be well pleased with it, and a price of $220USD can't be bad.

No need to apologize, the model number of my display is GCS 900-2D
Yes I'm very pleased with it.

Mine was $255 (about £160)for the 2x scales, display and Fedex to the door, luckily it slipped through French customs with no duty to pay, they did send the display and scales separately with the display arriving a few days before the scales, whether that makes a difference I don't know?

How come your confused?

They sent me a PDF of their catalogue, the layout of which led to my confusion, or maybe it is that I'm old

I do fiddle about with AUTOCAD, only 2D, if you want any of your sketches drawing up give me a shout.

I may just take you up on the offer of AutoCad, once its finished though so I know it all works

I have just ordered the DRO had to go and transfer funds into my model engineering account.

The tyres and foams have arrived, quick from Germany, I now have a hundred ideas for them, including an old crawler chassis that needs new tyres

If you could let me have details of the wheels that you machined that would be super

Not started on the wheels yet, I'm fiddling about with autocad see if I can get the beads to be better held.

Hmm drilling and tapping holes in my mill i have considered double sided tape I've been collecting pics from around the web to get ideas

good neighbours are handy..Mine know i can weld and have lathe , mill and other tools ...It never hurts ..Nice looking Bridgeport and it has lots of good stuff with it
