You might get a little better floatation, with an extra steering axle, but honestly, it will still get stuck just about the same as any 6x4 truck. An extra non-driven steer axle is extra rolling resistance that the rear has to push. I'd go 6x6, or 8x8. Either would be better then an 8x4.
