Re: D11 New Project
Looking good titandigs, when you finish it and then if you want to make it into kit to sell, I would buy one off you?
regards From Cameron.

Re: D11 New Project
The dozer may well be made into a kit or pre assembled but it would depend on the level of interest. Having said that there is a long way to go before completion of these three units and a lot of testing (fun).

Re: D11 New Project
I'd be interested to see this become a kit as well. That ripper is huge! I didn't think it was that big. That's impressive. Of course a 1:1 scale D11 is a monster too, so it's not that much of a surprise to see it takes two hands to hold the ripper.
What kind of motors are those? 12 volt?

I will re weigh the machine soon to find out where is at for weight and put it up on a Wedico float to put the size of it into prospective. The motors came from a friend in Germany. They are a worm drive unit and are 12 volt, from memory they do about 21 rpm and stall at about 7 amps so they should be strong enough to do what we want without breaking the drive line inside with to much power. Testing will tell. Paul |

Re: D11 New Project
Sounds interesting Paul. 7 amps is pretty low current draw, but with two motors, I guess you're up to 14 amps, stall current. That's still not bad.

Re: D11 New Project
Paul,
Quick Q: Are you planning on powering the motors with ESC's? I think it will be interesting to see how the Wedico float copes... I haven't seen one in person to get a feeling for how strong they are... but I have a feeling this model will push the limits of most 1.14 floats... Cheers, Andrew P. |

The speed controller I will be using is a Servonaut M220 for tracked models. I think to be honest the Wedico float will die a crushing death but will put it on to have a look anyway. One of the guys here in Perth has an RC4WD trailer and I think they are rated to about 80kg |
