Re: Logging & Construction Equipment
Thanks Lou for posting the pictures. Sure had a great time moving dirt with you two. The FWD is a tough truck and it survived the roll over, never even broke the mirror off. I'm pretty sure we moved about 42 loads until Greg put that big one on by packing it down. Those screw drives are tough tho, as it still lifted the box crammed like that. Go FWD!!!

Re: Logging & Construction Equipment
Got together with rob and greg yesterday and did some more work in Gregs big construction park Project ..greg had some radio problems with the excavator so we ended up double teaming with the two Dozers ..we backfilled the N/W wall for a while and I ended up getting stuck a few times ..The D8 can pull good too ..thanks greg

Re: Logging & Construction Equipment
Cool videos, Lou. Your IH TD25 is a really nice model. I've always liked it. Something different then Caterpillar yellow machines, but Greg's dozer is a great model too. I'd be glad to own either! Looks like you had a good time.

Re: Logging & Construction Equipment
Thanks guys ..I can easily kill 4 hours hanging out and moving dirt or logs with greg and rob ..As you can see i have been getting the dozer back into the operating mode ..i used to have planatarys in the sprokets and they wernt sealed enough ..They would get plugged up so I got rid of them ..some of the photos you can see the new hubs ..works much better but a little fast ..may order a couple sprokets and gear it down a bit more .I was also not quite happy with the blade up/down travel and finaly got around to swapping out the cycinders from 2" to 3" travel. much better

Re: Logging & Construction Equipment
Looks good Lou! I like how you have incorporated an old road sign into the frame. You better get busy though. Don't you have a gravel truck to build?

Hi Tracksntreadslou
Your International TD 25 dozer did you make it your self or did you buy it as a kit off some one? I like how it looks as is has a old school look to it. Regards from Cameron.

The parts look pretty crisp!

Its important these days to recycle ..too bad that guy drove right though where he was supposed to stop where the sign used to be ..lol Quote:
Thanks Joe ..The little tag Has very little backlash..Im getting much more cofortable on the CAD program..Learning a few 3D parts as well..The main thing with these things you have to remember is the it makes mistakes if you tell it to..I broke about a half dozen tool bits learning ..I have about 200 hours on it now ..the first 100 took in setting up and installing limit switches ..Sure glad they are there ..Now with the way its set up when I first start the gcode program if there is some thing not correct in travel the machine wont start traveling ..Very cool ..im realy ejoying this ..I do want to have a bit bigger manual milling machine at my disposal one day .. |

As you can see I machined the slides in one complete peice so that everything would stay true when i bolted this to the blade ..i then cut the small tab off that hold the two slides together Found a chunk of 3/4 and got the taig hogging out Big 1/4 scales mounted for the articulation http://s181.photobucket.com/user/tra...1b5f6.jpg.html Thats all for now |

Coming alone very well Lou. How many functions are you going to have ? And how many are going to be spools?

Re: Logging & Construction Equipment
Awesome! I love the CNC machined parts! Maybe someday I'll be able to make something as cool as your grader. Looking forward to the updates, Lou.
