Well when i packed the truck for the move i have put a towel over the rear fenders and i had something on the rails but it all shifted and i guess in the heat while in storage or something this happened....
![]() ![]() SO yea.... Both fenders are F'd up!!!!! And it's not gonna just buff out either lol. SO looks like i will be getting some new fenders for this truck and re painting them.... I might try to sand these down and just repaint them but i may just make new ones a little different or buy some of the new ones from Russ.. Haven't decided yet. Just thought i would share my pain. I know most have been there at least once.. HMMM maybe ill just put all this on the frame i was gonna chop for the day cab and use this chasis for the daycab... Maybe ill be rebuilding this truck for the 5th time afterall!!

oh wow, i feel your pain dude! but like you said, decision time to rebuild or replace.
as for the orange peel effect, you will always have orange peel in paint. just need to cut and polish after to get the mirror shine. take practice to get it right on styrene, but when done holy smooth! 2500 paper to start with. then final cut with 3000 sand paper. then 3 stage polish compounds with low to really low polisher rpm's. takes time but well worth it.

![]() OK I was bored today so I decided to mess around with the truck again and finally install the charge port so I don't have to take the breathers and rack off everytime the battery dies..... Unfortunately the local hobby store blows (hobby town usa) and doesn't sell Tamiya anything....... SO getting the switch I needed to get that Travis told me about wasn't an option without ordering online so I just went to ACE Hardware and bought one similar. so once again took the cab off and started drilling, cutting, and soldering wires and ended up with this ![]() and three way toggle On/off/charge ![]() tested it out and worked perfect!! No more tearing it apart to get to the battery, used a 5100 MAH so ill have plenty of run time too. So heres some current photos ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking

This is an awesome truck you've got here. How exactly did you set up the charge ports? It's a great idea
Thanks buzzy |

First buy a 3 position switch (3 pole) should have 6 contact on top. You wire the battery to the middle 2 terminals poss on one side and ground the other. wire a blank set of wires with a plug on it to one side matching poss on same side etc. the other side is wired too the mfu power wires. its a reversed switch basically you click the switch right it sends power to left terminals. switch left sends to right terminals. center is off. Not sure how well you can see but here is the switch wired up. I have a 8" lead with deans plug at end running thru cab floor above my right tank. I can reach it under the tank and pull it out a little to charge and then push extra wire back up into cab floor when running and stays out of way... ![]() Let me know if that helps. if not I can draw it out in paint or on the photo or take different photos.
