Re: JBC limited NZ
Welcome back and glad to hear all is well after the fireworks and all.
The grinder definitely needs larger diameter sprockets but I don't think you'll need to up the speed. Can you also maybe change the bottom of the drive from a flat surface to something more knife edge or tapered a bit. How much larger of sprockets are you thinking of using? The hammer, But you need more speed there for sure.. Keep it up, looks great! |

Re: JBC limited NZ
cheers Mario,
bigger sprockets are a must, but cant change the flat surface as that's the bottom of the gear box. I think I will look at another 10mm in diameter (60mm), I will see what they have on their shelf and its gota be cheap. and the hammer, yes there is a lot of changes needed. cheers andy |

Re: JBC limited NZ
had to rebuild the road I destroyed with the grinder, so took a little time and had a play while thinking about different ways to do the hammer.

Re: JBC limited NZ
It's kinda sad to see this thread not updated regularly anymore, you have a lot of innovative ideas built with basic tools & good ol' fashion know how... hope to see you back 'er someday soon Andy, long overdue to see that tracked crusher in action.

Re: JBC limited NZ
hi Joe,
yes way too long but with starting my new business running a small excavator and truck theres just not enough time in the day. thinking really hard about employing someone to help me out so I can get some more family time and of course play time. The crusher can move under its own power but I need to redesign the conveyors as there is not enough clearance underneath . Just need to find 10 hours and she will be finished. hope fully things will slow down in winter and I can finish it. |

Hi all and merry xmas and a happy new year.
Im still around and even charged some batteries for a bit of a play, but that never happened. things are getting more organised so i have some spare time in the day. because its summer here Ive been getting around as much as i can in the roadrunner and doing a few hot rod shows. Skeeter , from memory the geared motor in the dump truck was around the 30rpm range. cheers andy |

Re: JBC limited NZ
Thank-You, sir for the info.
I have GRU in mine for now, but IDK if the other builds are worth the $$, when one could simply place a gear motor on it, & have the SAME effect for far less! |

So glad these photos weren't lost. Love the changes the 4200 went through to become the monster it is today.
