How many times do you have to change setting or can you make it all at once? Dan |

Re: twins
Az , Nate thank you
Dan, thank you , 1 setup as of now all done by 3D milling . I'm going to have to set it on the 2* taper from top to bottom to clean up the logo . A sin plate would be nice right now But , I'll make do . The bottom part I'll do a couple setups cause it's only 1" thick . I was going to flat surface all the angles with jigs . The 3D work actually ran pretty quick at 120 IPM with .5" ball mill . finish came out good for paint . The logo area took the longest , that I learned would be better on another setup

Re: twins
Lookin good Steve.
What does it weigh? Would it be too hard on tools to do it from steel? I have nearly 11lbs of counterweight on the 850 and there are times it's not enough. How far back from center is your counterweight? I'll measure mine to compare.

:edit: I'm finding it hard to believe only 6 lbs it feels much heavier . It has about the same cubic inch volume as a 20 lb sledge and feels about half .

Re: twins
yes , from the center of pivot . From front of cab to back of counter weight is 17.80" X 10" wide . the counter weight is 5" high what is the diameter of your front idler and sprocket ? Mine are 3" major dia with a 2.6" DP for the sprocket .

Front idler is about 3", maybe a bit more... difficult to see clearly with the tracks on & me standing on my head to look.

Re: twins
Steve,
Did you hog out the block for the tank and is that your filter? What 3D software are you using and do you like it? Last edited by catmack; 02-24-2013 at 03:07 PM. Reason: Insert omission |

Re: twins
Very impressive.
Just curious, but for those of us who know nothing about machining, where does one buy a giant block of aluminum like that? Last edited by FlyingBeagle; 03-01-2013 at 05:43 AM. Reason: Typo |
