Very nice wood work! I'm with Swagger brings back memories of scratch building airplanes! Thinking seriously about trying a trailer in wood.

Re: 70's Wilison Cattle Trailer
Looks Sweet Paul. For some reason I never thought about wood for the trailer. I think if I can build RR trestles and buildings out of it I should be able to build trailers... Might have to give it a try.
After the trucks done of course... **** ocd

Paul, you didn't think this would get much attention? I wonder if Da Vinci ever thought that about any of his priceless works of art? Hmmm.......

Ok guys i got some more done the last 2 nights.. I had a stock pile of trailer axle shafts but no housings so this is what I came up with so I would not have to wait for them to get in.. I took 1/2 alum tube and pressed the bronze bushings in the tubes and them made derlin blocks that fit around the tubes to give you a flat spot to bolt the brackets on too.. Also mounted the axles to the rear of the trailer.. And I made the plate that the king pin mounts to with the ski on the front of it on the nose of the trailer. So that's were it is at right now.. And behind the Barn Burner..

Re: 70's Wilison Cattle Trailer
Those axles are class! Simple but effective and they are stronger and look better than the kit ones, not to mention, possibly cheaper to make than to buy the stock axles. You possibly have a product there my friend!
