When I pulled the red wires out the rx plugs of the Sabertooth, then the dual esc didn't work. I use the small receiver 4.8v batt that comes with radio kits with the Sabertooth red wires installed as well, I never had any problems, nor any time outs b/c of thermal protection.

Alternative to screw drive !
I worked on a different system for a dump system on my ADT. There is not a lot of room for a screw drive system unless I build a new box, so I worked on a pulley system today and it seems to work. Far from clean and hidden, but it is simple..

Just a update, some people have been asking what I have been up to... Well the ski season on the West Coast has been very GRIM this year. Not much of a winter as of yet with the ski hill only open for a few days so far due to lack of snow.
I have started a log skidder build, it is now rolling. I am very impressed with its climbing power.

On this machine the pivot point is on the front axle, some smaller skidders it is in the center. ( CAT 518 skidder )

Hey guys, its been a while, work keeps getting in the way of model building... I have been able to check the thread from time to time. Looks like the hobby is growing at a nice pace... Attached is some update work I have done on the skidder.

Nice! How are you driving the wheels. Speaking of wheels, are those tires off of an old Radio Shack RC car? I have an old one called the Car Crusher. Also a smaller 4x4 with the same style tire but smaller scale.

I have put a electric motor for each wheel. Tires are from tower hobbies
