Re: Great Dane excavating co.
Ok scale wise the planks would be like 14" wide, what do you guys think? I don't think at this point I'm going to alter frame to have ibeams exposed.
Go with the wider planking?

Re: Great Dane excavating co.
I know I'm a little late with my 2 cents but the way I figure, Flatdeck tralers typically are narrow planks and lowboy trailers are always big wide, tough looking chewed up planks.
The trailer is reaching epic scale RW.... Almost can start talking about paint color and scheme yet? |

Re: Great Dane excavating co.
Primer on the 22 extension supports,
And my motor hoist / heated dryer painting station. I know I said I wasn't going with a gloss black but after looking around some are and I had a few rattle cans that needed to be emptied.

Re: Great Dane excavating co.
Thanks, I forgot to drill two holes in top deck for wires to be able to pass down neck. Grinding a square hole with dremmel isn't fun. Will be somewhat hidden anyway. Only problem I see is that neck doesn't completely rise to where travel position would be. Pivot points are maxed out to keep actuators in neck. But the landing legs compensate for that be lifting trailer pretty high , enough and then some for truck to hook up. That's why I'm putting battery in axle area to keep neck deck as light as possible. It will still work but not 100% as I wanted. Knew that from early on. Once I get holes cut in for wires and working with new landing legs ( re-made parts can see one on top of cardboard) then I'll start on securing decking. All I'm planning on doing with that is glueing wood strips (side to side) on underside catching ibeams (like a clamp) hopefully done by next week. And have to start painting excavator.

Re: Great Dane excavating co.
Thank you , some work on the landing legs, I made new one with a profile milled into sides (can't see it yet). And the one set screw is to lock the shaft while the other two are for micro adjustments to where I want it to stop if it were uneven or needed more.
Actuator lead wires shrink wrapped Housing battery and radio rx in back. Also added some black grip tape to top of wheel wells
