For some reason (probably from not wearing a respirator ) I thought the event was towards end of month!! No worries, looks like I'm going to be driving a small suv and getting room nearby. Anything big going on that weekend that I need to make reservations or do ya think one of the nearby hotels should have vacancies? Dozer, excavator, scissor neck trailer, aero max and if I can get the motor swapped out in the haul truck she will be making voyage. Well,, even if the haul truck isn't running I'll probably bring her too . Still will make a good beer icebox!!

Did I ever tell ya what I think of French Canadians? Lol!! Gotta start something brewing before I get there!!! Really looking forward to getting to see everyone in person and doing some backyard modifications. .

Almost wish it was end of the month and have more time to prepare but nope,.....t minus 6 more sleeps to be exact.
I can't see a problem with you finding a room nearby, plenty of decent places within minutes. No big event in this old town. a few guys from southern Ontario are booked at the Trunk Road Motel.

And if you can, definitely bring the truck in whatever state. Will make for some good pics and video for the reporters coming.

My new dozer arrived yesterday! Within minutes of removing from box I was pushing dirt in the yard and just amazed! I spent too long working with and seeing what I can do with conversion plastic dozers but now I know what moving dirt is really all about. Big smile on my face needless to say
To be honest, right away I thought about a proper cat yellow coat of paint is in order this winter but already at day two and I'm starting to like the white , rough and tough look of it

I have a few of these cat logos collected from scrapped parts and noticed tonight how proper they look and suit the dozer.... Sorry Izzy, I mean no disrespect, not trying to cover or hide the builder of this beast but the moment I realized how well these logos fit....I just had to put them on

Also now equipped with a servonaut smt sound unit. videos coming soon !

. Guilty as charged Kent.
Guess I am coming around finally. But not the black Pete! That's staying shiny and clean

Couldn't be happier with the look and performance of the dozer. I can see myself having fun for years to come.

Mario-

Great pics of the action. Looks like a good turn-out. Alex (DieselKid) and I will have to make the trip up there someday after I've completed my recovery. Till then enjoy and keep posting.

I have to agree with the black Pete staying clean and unscathed! The turnout looks great and so does Foxville. Didn't know you had trains too must have missed that one. Hope to make it next year.

Actually, the trains ,figurines ,train station and 60ft of rail with a switch were brought by a forum member Mikem. Hey made a 9hr drive to join us. Also brought his 3 beautiful trucks including the Mack.
Within an hour he had it laid out and running from the pit to the pile.
I was instantly amazed at what an effect adding just a simple stretch of track and trains does for the yard!

It's a done deal! I must have a train and Mike is gracious enough he's going to guide and help me out. I'm hooked!

Here's a video of everyone gathered in the yard.

https://youtu.be/gLqVcsgWQac

being the very first time doing something like this the turn out was perfect. I got a good feel for how well the yard does or doesn't function with all the traffic. ( IE , light pole incident. Which was absolutely not staged. He did it, we froze the scene and then brought in the cops and driver. )
Learned a lot for next year and got all kinds of great ideas from everyone I'm gonna be busy.

If that was the only accident you had, you had a very good bunch of drivers up there! Normally, lots of the 'extras' get moved at Indy or any of the other meets we have. Too much speed, distracted drivers, and/or inexperienced operators are to blame. Not paying attention also doesn't help.

Looks like you had a great time. Hope to make it up to your place one of these times.
